GERBER EDGE® and EDGE 2 (Discontinued)
   New EDGE FX available
Introduced in 1993, the original GERBER EDGE created a revolution in sign making as one of the first printers to allow sign professionals to digitally create outdoor-durable graphics. Then in 1997 the EDGE 2 continued the revolution in sign making with up to 3X the speed along with improved output performance. Today the Gerber EDGE FX is the latest in this technology offering customers the best work flow and the widest range of money-making applications.
 
 

 
  • Gerber EDGE and EDGE 2 replaced by EDGE FX™

    • Even though the EDGE and EDGE 2 are no longer available, Gerber continues to offer and enhance a complete line of GerberColor™ foils and EDGE Ready™ materials for the EDGE and EDGE 2 printers. The latest addition to the Gerber line of thermal printers is the Gerber EDGE FX which provides several performance and usage enhancements over its predecessors. EDGE support, literature and application information can still be found on this page and throughout our website.

     
  • Important note for EDGE 2 owners purchasing new PCs

    • If you have a GERBER EDGE 2 and choose to upgrade your PC, you will need an ECP parallel port on the mother board to drive the EDGE 2. If this ECP parallel port is not available, the addition of an aftermarket ECP card will NOT work with the EDGE 2. Customers can purchase the USB-to-Parallel cable option if an ECP port is not available on their PC. (See the following bulletin)

     
  • USB-to-Parallel cable options available for EDGE/ EDGE 2

    • For those customers who have a GERBER EDGE 2 but no ECP parallel connectivity, Gerber is pleased to announce the availability of a USB-to-Parallel cable option for use with the EDGE 2 and OMEGA 2.5. This cable, which is specially configured for Gerber Scientific Products to work with the EDGE 2, is recommended for use with computers that do not have ECP parallel ports to drive the EDGE 2. We have had good success interfacing GERBER EDGE (not the GERBER EDGE 2) units to off-the-shelf USB-to-Parallel cables available from computer supply retailers. (More...)
