Installing Gerber MAXX 2 Material Update: This procedure will install the material update for MAXX 2. This material update will allow require the use of Process Pro foils for the MAXX 2 built-in calibration and test jobs. Before performing the update, you must set the MAXX to accept a system update. 1 On the MAXX control panel press Menu > Service > System Update. The display shows: System ready for update Press CANCEL or MENU to exit: The red LED over the STOP key should blink to indicate system update mode. 2 Click Start > Programs > GSP OMEGA > GQMgr to open the GQ Mgr dialog box. 3 In the GQMgr dialog box click Help > About GQMgr... and verify that you have Gerber Queue Manager Application 1,5,5,12 or later installed. *************************************************************** CAUTION: If you have multiple MAXX printers, it is important that you choose the correct MAXX to update in GQ Manager. Remember that each MAXX has a unique IP address on the network. *************************************************************** 4 Locate the MAXX that you have set for a system update. Right click on the MAXX icon to access the drop-down menu. 5 Click Properties to open the Properties for Gerber MAXX dialog box. 6 Click Batch to open the GSP MAXX Batch File dialog box. 7 Browse to the MAXX material update folder and open it. 8 Click Mupdate.mxb. This installs the material update to the the MAXX hard disk. As the material update installs, status messages automatically scroll through the Properties for Gerber MAXX dialog box. Ignore any Failed messages that scroll through the dialog box during the update process. They are a normal messages during the update. Upon successful installation of part one of the firmware the following message displays: MAXX 2 MATERIALS UPDATED CYCLE POWER ON MAXX 2 TO COMPLETE MATERIALS UPDATE 9 Turn the MAXX off for at least 10 seconds. Turn the MAXX on. Wait for system to finish booting and display the message "Waiting for print job."
