    How to select the proper bit length
    When choosing a bit for a particular job, select one with a Cutting Edge Length that is as short as possible, but still long enough to go all the way through the material. This will minimize vibration and enable faster cuts with better edge finishes.


    Gerber Gold™ Bits

    While they don't look Gold, these titanium nitride coated bits certainly deserve Gold status. These new competitively priced bits cut cleaner, faster, quieter and last longer.     Single-Flute Radial Bits


    Unlike the spiral flute bits, these bits have a single straight cutting edge which doesn’t pull up on the work piece. This straight flute allows the bit to “shear” the chip off at the top edge of the material being cut without leaving a burr. However, the chip extraction will not be as good as a spiral bit.

    These bits are ideal for cutting sheet aluminum and brass with a thickness of .060" (1.5mm) and less, as well as soft woods and soft alloy aluminum.

    Three-Flute Spiral Tapered Bits


    Tapered bits give you an angle on the edge of the material being cut. As a result, these bits are excellent for cutting vacuum form molds. Also, when you want something other than a straight edge for special applications, these bits can be used to create a "halo" effect without adding any additional cost.
